Our Statement.

Isle of Dogs Darts Club acknowledges the duty of care to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and is committed to ensuring safeguarding practice reflects our statutory responsibilities. 

The policy recognises that the welfare and interests of children are paramount in all circumstances. It aims to ensure that regardless of age, ability or disability, gender, race, religion or belief, sexual orientation, socio-economic background that all children:

• Have a positive and enjoyable experience of sport at Isle of Dogs Darts Club in a safe and child centred environment.
• Are protected from all types of abuse whilst participating in darts or outside the sport.

We acknowledge that some children can be particularly vulnerable to abuse and we accept the responsibility to take reasonable and appropriate steps to ensure their welfare. 

Our Policy

As part of our safeguarding policy, we will do the following:

1. Promote and prioritise the safety and wellbeing of children and young people 
2. Value, listen and respect all children 
3. Ensure everyone that works/ volunteers will have a clear DBS check 
4. Ensure appropriate action is taken in the event of all incidents or concerns that have been raised by an individual, either child or staff member
5. Ensure confidential, detailed and accurate records of all safeguarding concerns are maintained and securely stored 
6. Ensure that parents/ guardians have agreed to the use of their child’s pictures or videos from darts can be used on the Isle of Dogs Darts social media only.
7. Make sure that both parents and children know who or where to go for help if they have any concerns

Failure to comply with the policy will be addressed without delay and may result in being removed from the club and possible further exclusion from Isle of Dogs Darts Club.
